Terms of Service

The terms that govern buying, selling and using the Watchport marketplace.

    Version 1.2, September 2026

    1. About Watchport

Watchport is a curated marketplace for pre-owned luxury watches. We connect verified buyers and sellers and provide escrow, authentication and insured shipping services. Watchport is not the owner of the watches listed and acts as an intermediary between buyer and seller.

    2. Accounts and verification

You must create an account to buy or sell. Private sellers verify their identity with MitID; business sellers verify through their company registration (CVR in Denmark, or the equivalent register plus KYB review internationally).

Business and international sellers may be required to complete an additional verification step with our payment partner before their listings can be published. Until that step is complete, such sellers may prepare listings as drafts but may not offer them for sale. We may refuse, suspend or close accounts that cannot be verified or that breach these terms.

    3. Listings

Sellers are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, including condition, provenance, box and papers, and photographs. Listings may only be published by verified sellers. Watchport may edit, unpublish or remove listings that are inaccurate, misleading or non-compliant.

3a. Photographs and other content you submit

You keep ownership of the photographs, text and other material you submit. By submitting it, you grant Watchport a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, store, crop, edit, resize and display that material for the purpose of operating, improving and promoting the marketplace. This includes using an image as generic reference material for the watch model it shows, for example in comparison, catalogue or visualisation features, which may appear alongside listings from other sellers.

You confirm that you hold the rights to everything you submit and that our use of it does not infringe anyone else's rights. The licence continues for material that remains published or has been incorporated into such reference features, and otherwise ends when the material is removed. You may ask us to stop using a specific image as reference material and we will replace or remove it.

    4. Sourcing Requests

Buyers may post a Sourcing Request describing a specific watch they are looking for. A seller may respond to a Sourcing Request with an offer describing the watch, its condition, price and an estimated time to deliver it, whether or not they currently have an active listing for that watch. A seller's response is valid for a limited period, stated at the time it is made.

A buyer may accept a response, which constitutes agreement to the terms stated in it, or make a counter-offer using the same mechanism available for offers on standard listings. An accepted Sourcing Request response proceeds as an ordinary purchase under these Terms, including the fees, verification requirements and reservation process described elsewhere in this document.

    5. Escrow, fees and payouts

Payments are held in escrow by SafePay Nordic until the watch has been received and, where applicable, authenticated. Watchport charges the seller a single platform fee of 5.5% for private sellers and 4.5% for business and international sellers. No other amount is deducted from the seller's payout.

Buyers may also be charged a watch verification fee, which is mandatory on private-seller sales and optional on business-seller sales, and an insured shipping fee, both shown at checkout before purchase. These amounts are separate from, and in addition to, the seller's platform fee.

Payouts are released to the seller after the buyer's 48-hour inspection period has passed without a valid claim, normally within 2 to 3 business days of confirmation.

    6. Currency and pricing

Listings may be priced in Danish kroner (DKK) or euro (EUR), depending on the seller. Where a price is shown in a currency other than the one the listing was created in, the converted amount is an estimate based on an exchange rate fixed at the time the listing's price was set, and is provided for convenience only.

The transaction itself, including the seller's payout, takes place in the currency the listing was created in. If a party's bank account is not held in that currency, their own bank may charge a currency conversion fee; Watchport is not responsible for such fees.

    7. Reservations and cancellation

Buying a watch or accepting an offer, including an accepted Sourcing Request response, reserves it for a limited period so payment can be completed. Depending on the payment method available to the buyer, this may involve completing payment immediately or submitting proof of a bank transfer for review within that period. If payment is not completed within the applicable window, the reservation lapses and the watch returns to the marketplace. Cancelled or failed payments release the reservation immediately.

    8. Authentication and shipping

Watches are shipped insured and may be routed via our authentication partner before delivery to the buyer. If a watch fails authentication, the transaction is cancelled and the escrowed funds are returned to the buyer.

    9. Prohibited conduct

You may not attempt to transact outside the platform, share contact details to circumvent escrow, list counterfeit or stolen goods, or use Watchport for money laundering or any unlawful purpose.

    10. Liability

Watchport provides the platform and related services with reasonable care but is not a party to the sales contract between buyer and seller. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the fees we received for the transaction concerned.

    11. Governing law

These terms are governed by Danish law. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Danish courts.
